We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the next Annual Colloquium of the Henry Sweet Society for the History of Linguistic Ideas, to be held at Maynooth University in Ireland from 5-8 September 2018. We are delighted to be hosting 45 speakers from 15 countries this year, with papers on over 20 different languages.
You can register for the conference online through the Maynooth University Shop (this link should take you directly to the conference registration page, but just in case, you can also find it by clicking on the ‘Early Irish’ tab in the left-hand column of the MU Shop website).
The provisional conference programme is available here.
If you have any questions about the programme or how to register, please don’t hesitate to contact Dr Deborah Hayden (firstname.lastname@example.org) directly.
Those wishing to attend this year’s colloquium are strongly encouraged to book their accommodation in Maynooth as early as possible in order to secure the option of their choice. We have reserved a number of rooms both on campus and in a nearby hotel in order to ensure availability for conference delegates, but these must be booked at least six weeks before the conference begins (i.e. no later than Wednesday 25 July). After that point, it will still be possible to reserve a room on campus at the conference rate, but the University cannot guarantee availability.
Further information on accommodation and travel to Maynooth is available here.
The Society welcomes applications to the Salmon-Verburg Fund from those in need of financial assistance to attend the 2018 Colloquium. Application forms should be sent to Dr Deborah Hayden (email@example.com) by no later than Wednesday 18 July 2018. More information is available on the Henry Sweet Society website.
We look forward to seeing many of you in Maynooth next September.
